Books I'm Reading

Here's a look at some of the books that are currently in some stage of being read in my Kindle library. I have a knack for starting books and then taking a long time to finish them, so some of these will be on the list for a while. But as I finish them (or sooner if something comes to mind), I hope to write about some of my takeaways from each one.

I just started this recently, after hearing the author on a podcast. He talked a little bit about the concept of his 10 second rule on the podcast, and that was once of the concepts that stuck with me, even many days after listening to the podcast. So, I finally got the book and have started reading it. I imagine I'll be writing more about this in the future.

Hearing Jesse Anderson as a guest on a podcast is actually what led me to discovering that I have ADHD. So naturally when he came out with his book, I had to get it.

I've enjoyed other Cal Newport books, so when I heard about this one, I wanted to pick it up to see what he has to say about this thought-provoking topic.

Levi Lusko has one of those writing styles that make me hear his voice in my head as I'm reading, as if he were the narrator of an audiobook. While I haven't finished Last Supper on the Moon yet, it has been great so far. I have a ton of highlights that I know I'll refer back to for a long time.

The Orphan X series has been my all time favorite book series. It's a thriller series, and all the books are easy to read. But author Gregg Hurwitz has a special way with words. Some of his detailed descriptions of things are almost poetic at times, and I love it. I've followed Orphan X, Evan Smoak, from the beginning, and I'm always excited at the beginning of every year when it's time for a new book release. This one is supposed to be released Feb. 13, 2024.

Gregg Hurwitz also has a big library of books that aren't part of a series. So if you wanted to start off with a one-off, that's a good way to get introduced to his writing style (even though I think the Orphan X series is the best). The Survivor is a good one that really hooks you in the first chapter.
